LADY BUCCS GET MUCH NEEDED WIN...
After a tough strecth of games, the Covington Lady Buccs recorded a big win over Bethel on Thursday.

OCTOBER 7, 2010 - COVINGTON
The Covington Lady Buccs have had a tough stretch of games over the past week, so Thursday's victory over Bethel was a much needed win.

"Most definitely," agreed Covington coach Lindsey Sullenberger. "We played better tonight as far as communication and enthusiasm. The girls played with some emotion."

Covington also had a solid night serving, which led to wins in all three games by the scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-10.

"We served really well," Sullenberger explained. "We hit our zones tonight, which is something we've been working on."

Another thing Covington has been focusing on is not giving up the four or five point runs that have lead to frustrating losses late in games. Tonight the Lady Buccs eliminated those issues.

"We gave up a run early in the first game, but other than that we were pretty steady," Sullenberger said. "We didn't give up any big runs after that."

Josselyn Tobias had a big night for Covington, recording 18 digs. Shelby Waag had 13 assists and Caitlyn Crawford tallied 6 kills.

Emily Henry was on with her serves, recording a team-high four aces.

Covington has the weekend off and is back in action on Tuesday at Ansonia.

Emily Henry passes the ball.
