|BOYS AND GIRLS TAKE THIRD IN CCC...
The boys and girls cross country teams had numerous runners finish with personal bests at the league meet on Saturday.
The Covington boys placed third at the Cross County Conference Meet, just five points away from first place.
"We had great weather for today's meet and the boys put together their best effort of the year," said Covington coach Josh Long. "I am very proud of all fourteen boys. They all came out really focused and ready to race. We had ten boys run their personal best today."
Levi VanDeGrift, Curtis Dysinger, and Willy Hoffert all made the all league team -- the first for any Covington boy in at least five years.
Andy Hittle had a nice race today-he was 42 seconds faster than last years league race.
Brandon Flora and C.J. Poling both ran impressive races. This was the first time they have ever been in the 18's.
Michael Rosengarten and Zach Shilt also both ran personal bests. Micheal reached the 19's for the first time.
Aaron Devenport and Zack Gibson both contributed today while running in the 19's. Darrell Thobe, Harry Hicks, Tyler Moody, and Justin McMillion all put forth their best efforts today.

The Covington girls cross country team placed third at the Cross County Conference Meet.
"The girls did an outstanding job today," said girls coach Libby Long. "They ran great races on a challenging course."
Ashley Diltz continues to drop her time with each race. She earned All-League Honors for the third year in a row--running an all time personal best.
Freshman Carrie Spurgeon also earned all-league honors and Emily Field ran gutsy race despite not being 100% healthy.
Kayla Fissel ran well in her first race back from an injury three weeks ago, while Raquel Brandt continues to run consistenly for the team.
Alyssa Reck, Tara McNutt, Ashley Hoblit and Sarah Cote all continue to push themselves, contributing to the team.
