COACH CAIN’S COMMENTS:
“Anna played very consistent and didn't make a lot of errors. We need to make better decisions when we are on offense and we need to be better from the service line. The season is young and we still have plenty to work on."

LADY BUCCS FALL AT BROOKVILLE...
Covington played at Brookville Tuesday night with the Varsity team dropping three straight sets 21-25, 7-25, 12-25 and the junior varsity losing isn two sets 21-25, 7-25.

STATE LEADERS:
Sophia Iddings: 6 digs
Nigella Reck: 2 aces, 11 assists, 6 digs
Ellery Reck: 3 kills, 4 assists, 8 digs
Lauren York: 4 kills, 1 ace, 4 digs
Alyssa Kimmel: 2 aces, 11 digs
Olivia Mohler: 4 kills, 1 solo block

COACH CAIN’S COMMENTS:
"We struggled from the service line for the most part, set one we lose by 4 and missed 6 serves. Emmaline Kiser went out in set two with an ankle injury and Marisa Fields gave us some valuable minutes in sets two and three. We need to keep working and have patience in the fact that we are improving. We host Anna on Monday and Versailles on Tuesday, so we need to do a better job of controlling what we can control and minimize mistakes."

LADY BUCCS COME UP SHORT TO START THE SEASON...
Covington made the short drive north on SR 48 to Russia for the first official match of both squads 2019 season. Covington JV found them selves in the hole early and never recovered losing 10-25 and 14-25.

Covington varsity found it no easier in the second match. Covington lost 9-25, 19-25, 12-25.

STAT LEADERS:
Nigella Reck - 3 aces, 5 digs, 4 assists
Ellery Reck - 3 assists, 2 kills, 9 digs
Emmaline Kiser - 2 kills

"We only collected 10 kills over a 3 set match - that can't happen if we expect to win. I did see some bright spots in set two, we played aggressive on defense and offense and our serve reception was much better. Russia is a traditionally strong program. I am hoping we can build off of this match and make some improvement before traveling to Brookville on Tuesday for our next match."

Marisa Fields digs a ball with Nigella Reck #7 and Lauren Yofrk #5 looking on.
Marisa Fields hits the ball over an Anna defender.
