LADY BUCCS GET FIRST WIN, DROP NEXT GAME...
The Covington Lady Buccs captured their first win of the season against Ansonia on Wednesday, but dropped a three-set match to Tri-Village on Thursday.

Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - Ansonia
The Covington Lady Buccs travelled to Ansonia on Wednesday and came away with their first victory of the season in five thrilling sets. The scores were 19-25, 25-22, 22-25, 28-26, 15-9 win.

"This was a dog fight," said Covington coach Lonnie Cain. "Ansonia swung at everything and I was very glad to see that we responded to the challenge."

The Buccs are 1-4 overall and 1-1 in CCC play and host Tri-Village tomorrow.

"We host Tri-Village on Thursday so I was very happy to see our young team fight for points and not give up," Cain said. "Hopefully we can build off of this win and gain additional confidence."

The Junior Varsity team was defeated by Ansonia 13-25, 20-25 they are 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the CCC.

Thursday, September 6, 2016 - Covington
The Covington High School volleyball teams hosted league contender Tri-Village and found the going tough in a three-set defeat 16-25, 22-25, 16-25.

"We competed against a very athletic squad tonight and I felt that we matched their energy on the floor," said Covington coach Lonnie Cain. "We gave up a few five-point runs that really hurt our momentum. We were up in two of the three sets and could not close. Once again we will be learning from our mistakes and hope not to repeat them."

Covington is now now 1-5 overall and 1-2 in the CCC.
