AN EMOTIONAL NIGHT IN HOME FINALE...
The Covington Lady Buccs dispatched Bethel in three games on a night that honored the senior class.

OCTOBER 9, 2012 - COVINGTON
It's was an emotional night at Covington High School as the Lady Buccs recognized their six senior volleyball players in the final home game of the season against CCC rival Bethel.

"Our focus tonight was to play well and honor our senior class," said Covington coach Ashley Miller. "Our seniors have worked hard for his program, so we wanted to make this night special for them."

Which Covington did as it cruised to an impressive win in three games by the scores of 25-15, 25-6 and 25-14.

And it was the senior class that got Covington rolling by playing the entire first game.

"I'm so proud of those girls," said Miller of the seniors. "It was a nice way to send them off in their final game on this floor."

Covington mixed in its regular lineup over the second and third games to prepare for build on its continuity for the upcoming tournaments.

"We have one more game left (at Ansonia) before the tournament, so we needed to work towards getting ready for that," Miller said. "Overall, we played pretty well tonight."

The win improves Covington's record o 9-11 overall and 9-3 in the CCC.

Covington closes out its regular season on Thursday at Ansonia.

JV Scores: Covington won in three games; 25-18, 23-25, 27-25.
