COVINGTON - Tuesday's quad meet with Ansonia, Newton and Riverside was a chance for Covington to move athletes around in order to prepare them for the later part of the season.
Still, with many runners competing outside of their normal events, both boys and girls teams won the quad with the boys finishing with 115 team points and the girls finishing with 87 team points.
Winning first for the girls were Lauren Hebert in the shot put (34' 1.5") and the discus (91' 5"), Carly Shell in the 400 meter dash (1:06.1) and the 800 meter run (2:34.3) and Danielle Alexander in the 3200 (13:30.2). Plus, the girls 4x100, 4-200 and 4x400 relay teams finished first as well.
Taking first four the boys were Sam Pritchard in the shot (33' 3.5"), Hunter Alexander in the discus (94' 2"), Shane Straw in the long jump (18' 7"), Jett Murphy in the Pole Vault (12' 3"), Cade Harshbarger in the 110 hurdles (17.6), Brian Kelly in the 1600 meter run (5:37.6), Nathan Lyle in the 400 meter dash (55.3) and Deron White in the 300 meter hurdles (47.0). The Buccs' 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 relay teams also finished first.
Covington returns to the track on Friday at Miami East.
