The Covington boys track team took eighth in their division at the Versailles Invitational on Saturday.

The Covington boys track team had a rough opening to the season with an eighth place finish in the white division at the Versailles Invitational on Saturday, accumulating a total of nine team points.
Minster won the invitational with 185 points, while New Bremen took second (111 points) and Spencerville claiming third (110 points).
Covington's highest placer was freshman Sam Christian with a sixth place finish in the discuss (122-06). Christian also came in ninth in the shot put with a toss of 37-05.00.
Two Buccaneer relay teams placed seventh, while two more took eighth.
Taking seventh with a time of 59.80 was the 4x100 meter relay team and the 4x200 meter relay team with a time of 2:06.75.
The 4x800 meter relay team took eighth with a time of 10:31.08, while the 4x400 meter relay team also took eight in 4:37.72.
The Buccs look to get on the fast track on Tuesday at Miami East.
