BUCCS TAKE SIXTH AT VERSAILLES...
The Covington Buccaneers boys track team didn't have all their horses, but still captured sixth at Versailles.

The Covington boys track team competed in the Versailles Invitational Saturday, taking sixth in the white division.
Jake Wise led the Buccs with the team's lone first place finish in the discuss with a winning throw of 137 feet, 5 inches. Wise was also the leader heading into the finals and capped the invitational with an impressive showing.
"Jake threw pretty well today," said Covington coach Tom Barbee. "He led after the qualifying round and threw well in the final."
Sophomore Teddy Hale also had a big day as he achieved a personal best in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet 10 inches for third. Hale was also on the 4x400 meter relay team with Bill Dickey, Zack Gobson and Josh Boehringer that took sixth in the time of 3:47. He also joined Dickey, Jeff Zimmerman and Boehringer to take eighth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 50.47.
"Teddy jumped two-feet longer than he did at Troy," Barbee stated.
Freshman Josh Boehringer took sixth in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet and 8 1.4 inches and captured fifth in the 400 meter run with a Time of 55.2. He also was a member of both the 5th place 4x400 and 8th place 4x100 meter relay teams.
"Josh's time in the 400 would have placed him in any division," said Barbee. "The winning time in the white division was 50.2, so he ran pretty well."
Senior Adam Zelik took third in the shot put with a toss of 43 feet 2.5 inches, while Levi VanDeGrift took eighth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:04.
VanDeGrift also sparked the 4x800 meter relay team to a sixth place finish with a time of 9:28. His teammates were Curtis Dysinger, Zack Gibson and Willie Hoffert.
"It was a pretty good day considering we didn't have everybody," Barbee concluded. "Brock (Iddings) wasn't available for the hurdles and Logan (Hall) wasn't available for the pole vault."
