BOYS AND GIRLS EACH TAKE THIRD AT CCC MEET...
The Covington boys and girls track teams each earned third place at the League Meet over the weekend at Twin Valley South High School.

Renee Otte won two events for the girls.
May 17, 2008 – WEST ALEXANDRIA
Both the boys and girls track teams took third at the Cross County Conference Track & Field Meet over the weekend at Twin Valley South High School.

The girls finished with 87 team points, behind first place Ansonia (192 points) and Miami East (105.33 points).

Leading the way for the girls were senior Ashley Diltz and junior Renee Otte, who combined to win three events for Covington.

Otte placed first in the 100 Meter Dash (13.1) and the Long Jump (16-04.75). She also took third in the 400 Meter Dash (2:35.2) and fourth in the 200 Meter Dash (28.8).

Diltz recorded a first place finish in the 800 Meter Run (2:30.1), a second place finish in the 1600 Meter Run (5:36.6) and placed seventh in the 3200 Meter Run (13.08.5).

The boys finished with 78 points as a team, behind Bethel (152) and Twin Valley South (145).

Brock Iddings had another stellar meet as he claimed two championships, a runner-up and a fourth place finish.

The senior won the 110 Meter Hurdles (15.4) and the 300 Meter Hurdles (41.2) despite rolling across the finish line. He claimed second in the 200 Meter Dash (23.6) and fourth in the Long Jump (20-06.00).
