The Covington boys and girls track teams put together solid efforts at the Tiger relays in Ansonia.

Leading the way for the girls were the 4x800 meter relay team and the middle distance team, which both took first place. The 4x800 team consisting of Chelsea Tebbe, Ashley Diltz, Alex Christian and Alyssa Angle finished five seconds better than the runner-up with a winning time of 10:37.90.

Angle, Tebbe and Diltz was joined by Holly Tobias in the Middle Distance event and again put together a dominating effort. They finished seven seconds ahead of the competition by completing the race in 7:39.04.

The Lady Buccs earned a second place finish in the high jump as well. Alex Christian, Alyssa Angle and Rachel Rindler finished with the same hight as Ansonia at 13'4", but finished second due to a tie breaker.

The boys placed fifth out of ten teams despite injuries and suffering from numbers.

They placed third win three events, fourth in one event, fifth in four events and sixth in three events.

Covington captured third in the Shuttle Hurdles and the Distance Medley. The hurdle team of DJ Griffith, Travis Wamer, Bill Dickey and Brock Iddings ran 1:10, while the Distance Medley team of Levi VanDeGrift, Teddy Hale, Travis Meyer and Curtis Dysinger finished with a time of 12:09. Finally, the 4x400 team of Logan Hall, Travis Wamer, Zach Gibson and Bill Dickey came in third at 3:44.
