The Covington boys and girls track teams competed in the Miami East invitational on Tuesday in what was a cold evening on the track.
The Lady Buccs had placers in 11 events, while the boys placed in 9 events.
For the girls, Ashley Diltz had a busy night as she ran a total of 15 laps while placing in four races. Diltz took 6th in the 1600 meter run (5:55.26), 7th in the 3200 meter run (13:14.63), and teamed in two relay events. Diltz, along with Alex Christian, Alyssa Angle and Chelsea Tebbe took 3rd in the 4x800 relay (10:39.36). She then teamed with Tebbe, Meredith Tobias and Holly Tobias in the 4x400 to take 3rd in the time of 4:32.
Meredith Tobias also had a busy evening, competing and placing in four events as well. Along with the 4x400 relay team, Tobias took 4th in the 100 meter hurdles (17.37), 7th in the 300 meter hurdles (53.11) and 7th in the long jump with a leap of 14'5.5".
Chelsea Tebbe captured 4th in the 400 meter dash (53.11) and the two relays, while Alex Christian also placed 5th in the 800 meter run (2:43.42) and second in the discuss (102'6").
Also placing for the Lady Buccs was Stephanie Crossman as she took 5th in the pole vault with a hight of 7 feet.
Brock Iddings received the highest place for the boys by taking 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles. It was the first time Iddings had ever ran the event and he came in with an impressive time of 17.50.
Bill Dickey placed 5th in the 400 meter run (56.66) and Logan Hall took 6th (56.92). Hall also captured 7th in the pole vault (9'6").
Adam Zelick took 5th in the shot (41'9"), while Jake Wise came in 9th (39'6"). Wise also placed 6th in the discuss with a throw of 128 feet.
The boys 4x800 meter relay team of Curtis Dysinger, Jordy Meyer, Zack Gibson and Levi Vandegrift took 5th and the 4x100 relay team of Travis Wamer, Bill Dickey, Teddy Hale and Brock Iddings took 9th (48.23).
The 4x400 relay team of Wamer, Hale, Dickey and Hall also placed - capturing 8th with a time of 3:56.20.
The boys and girls track teams travel to Twin Valley South on Friday.
