The Covington girls track team began their season with a sixth place finish at the Versailles Lady Tiger Classic, Saturday. New Bremen ran away with the trophy with 154 team points, while Covington finished with 52 team points.
Senior Meredith Tobias was the lone performer to capture a first place finish as an individual by taking the gold in the 100 Meter Hurdles. Tobias, a returning state qualifier in the event, edged Lesley Pitsenbarger of Ansonia in a time of 17.3 for first place.
