COVINGTON – Covington held a 7-4 lead heading into the seventh inning, but things unraveled as Minster scored seven runs in its final at bat to hand the Lady Buccs an 11-7 loss.

Covington controlled the game in five of the seven innings, but the two innings where Minster put up four runs in the third and seven in the seventh was the downfall.

The Lady Buccs scored two runs in the first and then tied the score at 4-4 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third after Minster plated four runs in the top half of the inning. Covington scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-4 lead.

The Lady Buccs had more scoring opportunities throughout the final three innings, but just couldn’t find a way to put more runs on the board.

Overall, Covington had 12 hits and Minster had 11 hits.

Karyanne Turner went 3-for-4 and drove in two nuns, while Emalyn Johnson, Taylor Foutz and Kamryn Barnes all had two hits. Av Hartwig, Jayda McClure and Emma Ouellette record one hit a piece.

The loss drops Covington’s record to 7-3 on the season.
