2009 CLASS GRADUATES...
The "Class of 2009" received their diplomas as the Covington High School graduation ceremony was held at Hobart Arena in Troy on Sunday.

May 31, 2009 – TROY
It was an emotional day for Covington High School's "Class of 2009" as they went through their graduation ceremony at Troy's Hobart Arena on Sunday.

There were tears of joy and tears of sorrow as the class of 60 kids celebrated their accomplishment together and remembered a dear friend they lost four years ago as incoming freshman and a teacher they lost just two weeks ago.

Speaking for the class was Valedictorian Renee Otte and Salutatorian Katie Dickey and both paid tribute to those they lost and those who were there for them over their four years of high school.

Also speaking was current Covington resident Annie Harrison, who was the valedictorian of the Covington High School "Class of 1979". Harrison provided five historic facts about the town of Covington and urged the graduates to always keep their home town close to their heart. She also inspired the graduates to make a difference in whatever community they choose to live.

The commencement was concluded with class president Michelle Leistner leading the class in the turning of the tassel.
