2015 GOLF PREVIEWS...
The boys and girls golf teams head back to the course with high expectations in 2015.

GIRLS GOLF PREVIEW
First-year coach Adam Sweigart takes over a young Buccaneers team that is still short on experience but will work to improve as the season progresses.

One boon for the team, though, will be returner Addison Metz, a junior. Metz was first team All-Cross County Conference last year and carried the lowest average from last year's team.

Also back are senior Sydney Blanton and juniors Kelsey McReynolds and Megan Alexander. Rounding out the roster are sophomore Noelle Gast and freshman Emily Thompson.

"This season is a season full of youthful inexperience," Sweigart said. "We have had a few golfers who were five or six starters last year that need to step into a supporting cast for our team scores at matches. Our team is full of players who are using each day at practice and each match they play to improve their scores and build their confidence in their overall golf game."

The key for Covington will be how the team grows from one match to the next.

"My hope as a coach is to compete at each match we play and produce a good team result, but also allow the girls to improve their scores each time they go out on the course. Our No.1 golfer (Addison Metz) was within a stroke or two from making it to districts, so I hope that she can reach that goal and make it to districts."

Sweigart expects Miami East to be strong again in the CCC and hopes the Lady Buccs can finish in the top three.
