| 2010 COVINGTON LADY BUCCS GOLF TEAM...
The Covington Lady Buccs continue to reload even with significant losses to graduation.
Every year the Covington girls golf program seems to lose so much to graduation that it leaves people thinking the team will take a step back.
But each year coach Ron Schultz finds a way to develop his talent and keep the Lady Buccs near the top of the league standings.
And 2010 will be another challenge for the legendary coach.
"We lost a pretty good one last year in Sarah Westfall," said Schultz. "But everyone else is back."
Westfall was a huge loss as she earned medalist honors in leading the Lady Buccs to the Cross County Conference championship.
"I was so happy for Sarah," said Schultz in regards to her accomplishment. "She wanted to be Player of the Year, but it just didn't work out with the scoring system. But she did earn medalist."
Covington has the players to pick up the slack with seniors Chloe Shell, Myranda Kelly and Nichole Henson leading the way. Shell and Hanson received all-league honors last season along with returning sophomore Cassie Ingle.
"Chloe came in under 100 last year in the league (a 98) and Nicole had her best score (110)," Schultz said. "Cassie plays a of golf in the offs-season, so she'll be even better this year too."
Also returning for Covington are sophomores Jamie Crowell, Kati Blair and Conner Schaffer.
Sophomore Bethany Richards and freshman Allison Ingle are newcomers to the program.
