LADY BUCCS CLAIM A SHARE OF CCC TITLE...

Amanda Fritts and Cali Jo Detter led the Lady Buccs to an impressive showing at the CCC Golf Tournament.

SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 - STILLWATER VALLEY
The Lady Buccs entered the CCC golf tournament Wednesday at Stillwater Valley needing a victory over Ansonia to gain a share of the conference title. The Buccs achieved that goal as they defeated Ansonia 416-433.

What Covington didn't count on was Tri-Village getting into the mix. Tri-Village carded a 413 total to win the tournament for force a three-way tie in the league with Ansonia, Covington and Tri-Village all holding 12-2 records.

Individually, the Buccs did very well as Senior Amanda Fritts won "Player of the Year" honors and fellow Senior, Cali Jo Deeter, was co-medalist for the tournament with a score of 94.

Joining Fritts and Deeter on the All-CCC first team, unofficially, were Renee Otte and Sarah Westfall. Chloe Shell earned Special Mention.

Last Thursday, the Lady Buccs traveled to Troy to take on the Lady "Trojanes" in a dual golf match that turned into a quad.

The Northmont and Fairborn girl's teams were there to tee it up with us. When the dust had cleared. the scoreds were:

Troy - 188
Fairborn - 189
Northmont - 197
Covington - 197

Match medalist was Amanda Fritts with a 44 and placing third overall was Cali Jo Deeter with a 46.

Cali Joe Deeter earned first-team All-CCC honors.
