ITHACA — The Covington girls golf team defeated Franklin Monroe 192-206 Thursday on the Lakeview nine at Beechwood Golf Course.

Fritts' round was an all-bogey round, while Otte’s scored included an eagle on the par-five fourth hole and a birdie on a 50-foot putt on the par-3 eighth hole.

Covington vs. Miami East @ par 36 Echo Hills.

When facing a team that has two golfers score in the 30s and three in the low 40s, you know you have to bring your best game.

Unfortunately for the Buccs, that never materialized as freshman Eric Beckstedt was the only golfer to score in the 40's, while three Buccaneers scored in the low 50s.

The result was a 159-197 defeat to Miami East on Tuesday at Echo Hills.
