This week's golf results to date: The girl's placed fourth at the Arcanum Invitational Monday.

Team Scores were: Greenville 358, Tippecanoe 258, Ft. Loramie 388, Covington 395, Versailles 415, Waynesville 428, Celina 449, Russia 472, Franklin Monroe 479, Arcanum 517, National Trail 531

Individual scores for Covington: Ashley Johnson 84( 3rd overall), Renee Otte 101, Amanda Fritts 104, Sarah Ciriegio 106, Cali Jo Deeter 106,and Sarah Wesfall 123

Tuesday the girls defeated National Trail at Echo Hills 159-220. Our scores were Johnson 39, Ciriegio 39, Otte 40, Deeter 41, Fritts 43, and Westfall 46. All the girls played very well in our first league match.

"Although the overall score don't look good, we did take 20 strokes off of last year's team total," said coach Bill Wise. "We are starting to make better contact with the ball and our individual scores are coming down, so that's very encouraging."

"The tight, tree-lined course took its toll on our golfers," coach Bill Wise said. "Our putters were also unreliable which led to high individual scores. We will work hard to correct these problems this week at practice."

Wednesday, August 23, 2006 – GIRLS GOLF
Covington defeated Miami East on Wednesday at Hidden Lake Golf Course in Tipp City 210-227. The course was the most difficult we will play all year. Covington scores were Ashley Johnson 43, Renee Otte 56, Sarah Ciriegio 53, Amanda Frittts 58, Sarah Westfall 62 and Cali Jo Deeter 78.
