A BIG DAY IN GREENVILLE...
The Covington boys took fifth and the girls placed sixth at the Greenville Treaty Invitational.

It was a spectacular day for both the Covington cross country teams on Saturday at the Greenville Treaty Invitational as the boys finished fifth and the girls taking sixth in the Green Division.
"This is the best we've done over there in a long time," said Covington boys coach Josh Long. "Both the boys and the girls teams did very well today."
The boys nearly had five runners run in under 18 minutes, two runners finishing less than three seconds from the mark. The average time for Covington was 17:47.64.
Willy Hoffert led the way for the Buccs, finishing ninth in the time of 17:08.49 - just eight second from his goal of finishing in the 16's.
Also running in the 17's were Brandon Flora and freshman Lane White. Flora finished 29th with a time of 17:45.79, while White established a personal best with a time of 17:58.68 - good for 37th.
Coming close to finishing under 18 minutes, but running great races were Zach Shilt and Dustin Fickert. The duo came in 39th and 40th with Shilt closing in at 18:02.44 and Fickert finishing at 18:02.77.
Also finishing in the top 100 of this competitive race was sophomore Jake Sowers, who finished in 81st in a time of 18:59.88.
The Covington girls recorded an average time of 21:13.00, good for sixth place as a team.
Sophomore Tara Snipes led the way with a 13th place finish in the time of 20:38.22, while Emily Fields put together another outstanding race - finishing 22nd in a time of 20:55.46.
Jesse Shilt and Casey Yingst were right on pace with Fields, finishing 29th and 32nd in the tightly contested event. Shilt came in at 21:18.47, while Yingst finished in 21:20.85.
Freshman Haley Adams also finished in the top 50, coming in at 45th with a time of 21:57.96.
The boys and girls are back in action on Saturday at Spencerville.
