| 2009 GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM
The Lady Buccs are young, but talented anough to have another memorable year in Cross Country.
The Covington girls cross country team is young, but return plenty of experience from a team that finished second in the league last year.
Looking to lead this years team include returning All-League runners: (Jr.) Carrie Spurgeon, (Jr.) Kayla Fissel, (Jr.) Emily Fields, (Sr.) Erin Waterfall and (Soph.) Julianna Simon. Other upper classman helping out will be Juniors Raquel Brant and Tabitha Smith.
"We're excited to get the season started," said Covington coach Libby Long. "We only have one senior, but return seven girls and we have put in a lot of miles over the summer. We are looking forward to our first meet."
The lone senior on the roster is Erin Waterfall, but a very talented group of freshman join the program. The list of freshman include Kayleigh Cecil, Brittany Diltz, Jessie Shilt, Tara Snipes, and Cassie Yingst.
"We have a great blend of talented and enthusiastic girls," Long said. "The freshman we have did very well in junior high and I think they'll have outstanding high school careers."
