The Covington Cross Country teams continue to perform well at meets as the gilrs took third and the boys claimed sixth at Eaton.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2009 - EATON
The Covington Cross Country teams competed at the Eaton Invitational this past Saturday.
The girls team placed 3rd overall.
"Almost all of the girls ran a comparable time to last weeks race, which is hard to do on a challenging course," said Libby Long. " Tara finished in the top 10 for the second week in a row. Carrie had a really strong finish, passing two people in the last few meters. Jessie, Emily, and Casey continue to make a huge effect for our team. Kayla and Julianna both played a huge role of how we finished as a team. Kayla was sixth on our team, and Julianna was seventh, but they were both in front of the Fourth place teams fifth finisher. Erin, Raquel and Kayleigh all continue to improve and work hard for the team."

The boys placed 6th out of 18 teams.
"We had hoped to place higher this year, but we placed the same as we did last year," said Josh Long. "The good news is our average time was a minute faster than last year, so we are continuing to make improvements with each race we run. We had several runners that did run their best races of the year, and this isn’t an easy course to accomplish that. We need to continue to work hard during the week and our races will continue to improve."
