BUCC CC TEAMS FINISH FIRST AND SECOND...
It was an impressive day at the CCC Championships on Saturday as the Covington boys claimed first, while the girls were runner-up.

The Covington Cross Country teams competed at the Cross County Conference Championship at Tri-County North.
The Boys teams captured first place, while coach Josh Long received coach of the year honors. The girls teams finished second.
"The boys had an outstanding day," said Covington coach Josh Long. "We knew it was going to be an extremely tight race coming into today, and it was. There was only a four point difference between us and the 4th place team."
Willy Hoffert 6th 17:28, Andy Hittle 7th 17:50, Brandon Flora 9th 18:13, Darrell Thobe 17th 18:43, Zach Shilt 20th 19:10, Michael Rosengarten 30th 19:58, Tyler Moody 35th 20:11, Tyler Tebbe 53rd 21:39, Harry Hicks 54th 21:40, and Zac Plessinger 71st 27:19.
"The boys knew it was going to take their best effort of the year if they were going to win league," Long said. "All the boys ran great races. I am really proud of them. They have worked extremely hard and deserve this accomplishment.
Hoffert, Hittle, and Flora all earned All-League honors.
It was an equally memorable day for the girls as they finished second.
"Finishing second today as a team was a huge accomplishment," said girls coach Libby Long. "The girls all ran extremely great races."
Carrie Spurgeon 7th 21:10, Kayla Fissel 11th 22:28, Julianna Simon 12th 22:40, Erin Waterfall 13th 22:48, Emily Fields 14th 22:50, Raquel Brant 26th 25:10, Tabitha Smith 34th 27:18, and Alyssa Reck 41st 28:46.
"Carrie ran an impressive race," Long continued. "She was closer to the lead pack than she ever has been. Our pack worked together the whole race and helped each other out. I am very pleased with all of their performances today."
Carrie Spurgeon, Kayla Fissel, Julianna Simon, Erin Waterfall, and Emily Fields all earned All-League honors.
JUNIOR HIGH TEAMS ALSO HAVE A BIG DAY...
The Junior High teams also had an outstanding day at the League Meet.
The Junior High girls team placed first in the league.
Tara Snipes was 2nd with a time of 12:46, Jessie Shilt 5th 13:02, Brittany Diltz 6th 13:10, Kayleigh Cecil 14th 14:20, Connor Schaffer 24th 15:34, and Jamie Crowell 26th 16:02.
The Junior High boys team placed second in the league.
Dustin Fickert was 2nd 11:25, Lane White 6th 11:44, Samuel Slusher 8th 11:53, John Karayannis 11th 12:05, Bryant Hicks 18th 12:30, Justin Millhouse 23rd 12:53, Dale Brant 25th 13:01, and Bryan Phillis 44th 15:11.
