CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS TAKE 7TH AT EATON...
The boys and girls cross country teams both placed seventh at the Eaton Invitational on Saturday.

The boys and girls cross country teams compete at the Eaton Invitational on Saturday with both teams earning a 7th place finish.
The Bucc boys were led by Willy Hoffert who placed 9th overall with a time of 17:48. Andy Hittle was next placing 27th with a time of 18:46. Brandon Flora placed 36th with a time of 19:28, followed by Darrell Thobe 56th 20:31, Zach Shilt 74th 21:08, Michael Rosengarten 81st 21:31, and Tyler Moody 85th 21:41. In the Reserve race Harry Hicks led the way placing 87th with a time of 22:39, followed by Tyler Tebbe 99th 23:14, Cole Wagner 111th 25:30, and Zac Plessinger 115th 26:27.
"Times were a little slower for everybody today, but the boys continue to show their improvement," said Covington coach Josh Long. "We placed much high this year as a team. We will continue to work hard this week to get ready to race at Versailles this weekend."
The Bucc girls were led by Carrie Spurgeon who placed 19th with a time of 22:06. Emily Fields was next placing 48th with a time of 24:30. Kayla Fissel placed 51st with a time of 24:44, followed by Julianna Simon 52nd 24:58, Raquel Brant 62nd 26:01, and Alyssa Reck 91st 30:04. In the Reserve race, Tabitha Smith placed 83rd with a time of 29:20.
"The girls steadily improve on placing higher," said girls coach Libby Long. "Each meet is different, so their times are always going to reflect a different course. They continue to work hard in practice and in the meets. Emily Fields ran her first race of the year coming back from a broken foot and she did a great job of competing. We are looking forward to the upcoming meets."
The Junior High teams also competed at the Eaton Invitational.
The boys placed 2nd out of 16 teams.
Dustin Fickert placed 2nd with a time of 11:44. Lane White placed 9th running 12:06, followed by Samuel Slusher 18th 12:45, John Karrayanis 40th 13:18, Bryant Hicks 43rd 13:21, Justin Millhouse 52nd 13:32, and Dale Brant 73rd 14:19. Nick Tobias ran in the Reserve race placing 14th with a time of 14:45.
Tara Snipes placed 6th with a time of 13:05. Brittany Diltz placed 10th running a 13:41, followed by Jessie Shilt 27th 14:17, Kayleigh Cecil 39th 14:41, and Connor Schaffer 85th 17:00.
The teams will compete at Versailles this weekend at the Tour De Sewer Invitational.
