LADY BUCCS EDGE NORTHRIDGE 52-49

DAYTON – The Covington Lady Buccs had their hands full in a critical TRC contest against Northridge, but were able to escape with a 52-49 victory.

Maggie Anderson, who broke the program record for consecutive free throws on Thursday, extended her consecutive steak to 34 consecutive free throws made by knocking down all six attempts. This broke the record for all Covington basketball, which was 31 consecutive free throws made by Jason Meyer in the 2001-02 season.

The Lady Buccs built a 14-10 after one and pushed their lead to 25-20 at the break.

Northridge outscored the Lady Buccs 17-9 in the third period to take a 37-34 lead, but Covington was able to regroup in the fourth quarter to claim a three-point victory.

Avery Koffer led the Lady Buccs with 17 points, 15 of those coming on five treys. Maggie Anderson and Gracie Anderson both scored 12 points, while Delaney Murphy finished with 11 points.

Covington improves its record to 14-4 overall and 9-1 in the TRC. Next is a home game against Milton-Union on Thursday.
